B. C. PLATH micrometer drum sextant with 6x30 prismatic monocular. Large mirrors. Micrometer includes 0.2 arc minute vernier. Certificate dated 1963. Sextant and box in excellent plus condition. Accessories include brush, adjustment wrench and spare bulbs for the lighting system. The sextant has been aligned and adjusted and is ready for operational use. An accuracy test report is enclosed with the certificate.

C. C. PLATH brass micrometer drum sextant. 4x40 telescope with split view mirror. Large mirrors. 3-volt system illuminates arc and micrometer. No certificate. Sextant is housed in a waterproof hermetically sealed carrying case. Accessories include a brush, spare batteries and an adjusting wrench.Sextant mirrors show some minor imperfections which, however, do not hamper the use of the sextant. Otherwise both sextant and case are in excellent condition.

Micrometer is fitted with a 0.1 minute vernier and I.C. correction device. Three neutral density filters and one Polaroid filter are installed for use with the index mirror and two neutral density and one Polaroid filter are installed for the horizon mirror. 3-volt illumination system for micrometer and bubble attachment. G. HUGHES GOTHIC Sextant. Top of the line marine sextant manufactured by Kelvin Hughes. All brass sextant, 6-1/2" radius with certificate dated 1965. Includes light for the artificial horizon, the arc, the vernier and the micrometer drum. Four index and three horizon filters. Fitted with the Booth spherical bubble artificial horizon and 6x30 prismatic monocular. Accessories include a 10x inverting telescope with spare 5x eyepiece and two eyepiece filters. Oil bottle, adjusting wrench and cleaning cloth also included. Mahogany case. Both sextant and case in near mint condition. A special 2x wide field Galilean telescope is available for use with the Booth artificial horizon. This instrument is a collector's item. Both the sextant and artificial horizon are ready for operational use.

H. H. HUGHES and SON "Gothic" marine micrometer brass sextant. Split view mirror. Four index filters and three horizon filters. Certificate dated 1951. Both sextant and mahogany case in near mint condition. Booth bubble artificial horizon, two Galilean telescopes and one prismatic 6x30 monocular. Accessories include an adjusting key, an oil bottle, assorted telescope eyepiece filters and a cleaning cloth. The micrometer is fitted with a 0.2 minute arc vernier. 3-volt illumination system for micrometer and bubble attachment. A collector's item. The sextant has seen very little use.

Large index mirror with large split view horizon mirror, including complete set of filters. Arc graduated from -5 to +140 . 4x40 erect scope and 6x30 galilean alignment (inverted image) scope. L. TAMAYA WORLD WAR II marine sextant with Gago Coutinho type bubble artificial horizon. Arc reads from -5 degrees to 105 degrees. Includes four index and three horizon neutral density filters. 3 volt electrical system for lighting with rheostat in handle to dim the three lights which illuminate the arc, the micrometer and the artificial horizon. Accessories include 2 telescope eyepiece filters. A non-optical sighting device, a 2x star scope, a 3x scope for use with the sun, spare bubble levels, a screwdriver, an adjusting wrench and 4 spare bulbs. The design of this sextant is based on that of the C. Plath "System Gago Coutinho" of 1926 which itself was licensed for manufacture by the designer Admiral Gago Coutinho. This sextant is a rare and unique instrument and is a valuable collector's item. Ready for operational use.

PRIOR TO SHIPMENT. WE TEST ALL SEXTANTS AND BUBBLE ATTACHMENTS FOR ACCURACY AND PROPER OPERATION. WE INCLUDE AN ACCURACY TEST REPORT WITH EACH INSTRUMENT, AND EXTEND 10-DAY INSPECTION PRIVILEGES.

The ARIES 40 and the CASSENS & PLATH with bubble attachments, the USN MARK 5 (USAAF A-14) by Bendix and the A-10 by Fairchild bubble sextants are our most popular sextants. We have sold a large number of these each year from 1988 to the present.
